In all Earnest....
...it was brilliant!
Congratulations to the cast and to Grainne on her directorial debut for a sparkling Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. It was excellent entertainment and much complimented by so many of the audience.
A big thanks too for all who contributed in so many ways - backstage with props, set, stage management, hair, make-up and costumes; on the lighting platform with sound and lights; and front of house with bar, tickets, programmes, publicity and lovely food.
Thanks most of all to the appreciative audiences - we need you most of all!!!!!
See you in January for the Panto - or come along this Saturday morning for coffee at Carillon Cottage and get involved.

Being Earnest!
All is now taking shape down at the Hall - tables set, ingredients for sandwiches and cakes listed to be bought, set up and props assembled, lights and sound organised, costumes completed - and lines fully learnt of course! Now all we need is an audience to come and have a wonderful evening or afternoon out and laugh their socks off at the wonderful Wilde classic wit. Forget the miserable weather and the dark nights and come and enjoy this marvellous comedy. Tickets are £8 each from Southern Cross Travel, The Old Library, High Street, Wadhurst (next to the Commem) or from the Box Office online here. There might be some available on the door - but don't risk it, they are selling well!

We're on the final push now to The Importance of Being Earnest and as you can see here from a still taken at our first costumed rehearsal on Sunday we've cracked the "Earnest" bit! Actually - it's far from serious and rehearsals are getting more and more fun as time creeps on.
Amazingly - words were learnt months ago so our illustrious director Grainne has been fine tuning her cast.
The backstage crew are a flurry of activity and various bits of furniture, tea sets, cigarette cases, muffins & hats have been purloined, cleaned up, adjusted and generally made ready for their moment in the limelight.
It's going to be a cracking production so get on and book those tickets via the boxoffice link of head into Southern Cross Travel in the village.
Toodle pip - any one for a cucumber sarnie?

Coffee's up!!
First Saturday in the month - it's coffee morning. Head to Carillon Cottage for a free coffee (or tea) + bikkie and a good ol' chinwag.
And don't forget that tickets are now on sale for the fantabulous The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde's unmatchable comedy of manners. Visit www.wadhurstdramaticclub.co.uk to buy via the Box Office there, or go along to our real live Box Office at Southern Cross Travel, in the Old Library right next to the Commem and buy your tickets from a real live person - probably Anneka or Penny! Tickets are just £8 including a lovely 'afternoon tea'. Choose between Friday 26th October at 7.45pm or Saturday matinee (3pm) or Saturday 27th evening at 7.45pm.
(If you see any other dates, that was just me looking at the 2013 calendar and getting it WRONG!)

Sleeping what?
Great fun at first Panto rehearsals on Monday and tonight as we inject extra fun into The Sleeping Beauty - giggles don't help the rehearsal but Charlie and Bex looked good as they dismounted their horses!

Beauty sleep or Sleeping Beauty?
Despite being rather tired from a work trade show attendance over the weekend, I had a good giggle at the read through for our Jan Panto, Sleeping Beauty, on Wed night. Particularly enjoyed Fetch and Carrie's postal frenzy!! Looking forward to the auditions on Sunday pm (2.30pm in the Commem in Wadhurst) - all welcome. There are 14 or 15 main roles for a mix of ages, m & f, but Jamie also needs lots of chorus so he can put in lots of physical comedy too. See you there! (Oh no you won't! Oh yes we will!!!!)

See you there (it's just behind the Commem - walk down the left hand side of the Commem as you look at the building and head for the first door - it's red I think - and we'll be in there).

Busy weekend!
Preparing for auditions on Sunday 4th March at Commem at 2.30pm. You can sing, dance or act - or do all three. If you want to find out more without over committing yourself (!!) come along to coffee at Carillon Cottage on Sat 3rd at 10.30-12noon and have a chat. Or come for a lovely early spring walk in Snape on Sunday morning, meet 10.30am at Snape Car Park on Brinkers Lane near the railway bridge.
