Fig-Leaves set now up and functioning

Amanda - our featherbrained Eve - did have one argument with a door that didn't open the way she expected, but apart from that there weren't any terrible onstage crises. One technical and two dress rehearsals to go and then we're off! My hair style, courtesy of Paulette's heated rollers and Amanda's backcombing, made me feel like I was back in the 60s! Scareeeeeeeeeeeey!

Auditions

Don't forget the open auditions this Wednesday 13th February for our May comedy 'No Time for Fig Leaves'. There are 7 female and 2 male roles - a range of ages and sizes of part. So something for everyone. The read through was great fun, with lots of laughs, so rehearsals will be good fun too.

9th Feb - Film Night Postponed

Sadly this weekend's Film Night has been moved to the end of February.
Due to short notice, certain members are not able to attend, and we're having a few technical issues, so have decided to reconvene in a few weeks.

We'll add more details next week.

Not much time for Fig Leaves!

Reminder:
We're having a read through of our next production "No Time For Fig Leaves" at 7.45pm this Thursday (7th Feb) in the Orchard room, Wadhurst, just behind the Commemoration Hall.

Auditions are next week (Wednesday 13th February), but this read through is a chance to see what the play's all about and what role/s you'd like to go for. Tea, Coffee and possibly even Biscuits provided.

Such Fun!

P.S. Thought a brief synopsis might be handy;
The play is about women running the world. An atomic accident has resulted in the disappearance of all men. All that is, but two who were protected in an underground shelter. The women keep these potential super-mates under close guard, but spurred on by the thought of a whole world full of desirable women at their disposal, the men try to escape. [original link]

What's coming up?

PLEASE NOTE: NO COFFEE MORNING THIS SATURDAY.

Apologies but Carillon Cottage is not open and many of us are attending the Thanksgiving service for Tom Lawson, long time supporter of the Club and husband to Vera Lawson, a Club stalwart over many decades.
Coffee as usual in March.

But don't forget that we will be getting together for a read through of the play for our next production in May - No Time for Fig Leaves, a witty comedy. This is a chance to find out about the play, decide if you want to be involved on the stage or off it, but also an opportunity for a catch up and a giggle. Read through: Thursday 7th Feb, 7.45pm
Auditions: Wednesday 13th Feb, 7.45pm  - both are in the Orchard Room (just behind the Commem).
Ring Catherine on 01892 783384 for any further info.

If you had a ticket but didn't make it....

If you had a ticket to one of the performances this weekend (Fri, Sat or Sun) but weren't able to make it because of the snow, do get in touch and we will try to fit you in to a performance next weekend - there's Fri eve, Sat matinee and Sat eve. Either give me, Catherine, a ring on 01892 783384, or call in to Southern Cross Travel with your tickets and we will try and sort an alternative for you (at no additional cost, of course). We don't want you to miss out, but can't help you unless you get in touch with us!
We had great fun this afternoon - all the cast made it through the snow, not a single no show, though some had a fair way to walk or skid! And the intrepid audience were amazing - making twice as much noise to make up for the missing audience members! Thanks to all!

Saturday, 19 January 2013

We're off! This is show business not snow business!

First night last night, went with a swing despite the best efforts of the snow to curtail everyone's fun.
All the cast made it and most (!!) of the audience. If you had a ticket for last night and didn't get there, ring us to see if we can squeeze you in next week on 01892 783384.
